Overview

CineSync helps filmmakers manage shotboards, scripts, props, continuity and reports. We designed CineSync to work locally on your device. We do not sell your data. We keep permissions minimal and transparent.

This policy explains what the app does with your information, what permissions it uses, and how you stay in control.

Information We Collect

We do not collect personal data on our servers. CineSync does not create accounts, does not use third-party analytics SDKs, and does not run ads.

On-device only

  • Projects, shotboards, scripts, notes (props/continuity)
  • Files you import (TXT, DOC, PDF) and files you export (reports)

These remain on your device unless you choose to share or back them up.

When you choose to share

  • Using the system share sheet, WebView bridge, email, or cloud drives
  • Only the content you select is shared via the apps/services you choose

App Permissions & How We Use Them

  • Photos & Videos — Import reference images/videos for shotboard and continuity. Used locally for display and export at your request.
  • Microphone (optional) — Record voice notes or audio comments. Audio stays on device unless you share it.
  • Camera (optional) — Capture photos/videos directly inside the app for props/continuity. Saved locally.
  • File Access via SAF — We use Android’s Storage Access Framework (system file picker) to import/export TXT, DOC, PDF, and reports. CineSync does not request “All Files Access”.
  • Location (off by default) — Not required. If a future feature tags scenes by place, it will be opt-in and foreground only.
  • Contacts — Not used. We do not read or upload your contacts.

Grant or revoke any optional permission anytime in Settings → Apps → CineSync → Permissions.

Third-Party Services & WebView

CineSync does not embed third-party trackers. If you open external links or share through other apps (e.g., Drive, Mail), their own privacy practices apply. Please review those apps’ policies when you choose to use them.

Data Security

Your content is stored in app-private storage or in locations you choose via the system file picker. Android and your device vendor provide the underlying encryption and sandboxing. We recommend keeping your device updated and protected with a passcode/biometrics.

Data Retention & Deletion

  • On device — Your data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app.
  • Delete inside the app — Remove projects, shots, scripts, or notes you no longer need.
  • Delete from storage — If you exported files to Downloads/Drive, delete them from those locations as needed.
  • Uninstall — Removes app data stored in the app’s private directory.

Children’s Privacy

CineSync is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has shared personal information through external services while using CineSync, please contact us and we will assist.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect product changes or legal requirements. When we post updates, we revise the “Effective date” above. Material changes will be highlighted in-app or in release notes.
